Writing Articles To Get Noticed

If your website is new or you are having trouble getting visitors to your website article writing is your ticket to getting noticed in the online world. Submitting to article sites is a great way to get your website noticed not only by your visitors that your article will attract, the search engines will take notice as well.

Article writing is one of the best ways to get your website on the fast track to doing what you put it up to do in the first place, make you money. Writing articles will help you do that by getting targeted visitors to your website. After All, you can’t sell if the store is empty. Article writing will help you get some customers in that empty store.

Here’s what happens when you submit your article to an article website. You are allowed to place the link to your website in the bio section of your submitted article. The largest interest to your article will be on the first day that it goes live on the site because it will only be posted on that first page on the day that it goes live. That’s when you will get most of your clicks to your site from the article site. After the first day, your article can only be found under the category that you posted it to and your click through rate will decrease. If you were to submit one article everyday to the article site your website would be exposed on the first page everyday giving you some continuous traffic which is nice but is not the real reason for doing it. The real reason that you want to submit to article sites on a regular basis is because you will be getting an incoming link from a high traffic website which will make the big search engines take notice. This is a great way to get a high traffic incoming link to your website and get some traffic at the same time for free. Article writing will be a little more work but is well worth the effort. The extra time that it takes is really not that much.

Search engines, especially Google, love content. The more content the better. If you have a lot of good content on your website, Google will index your site a lot faster than the normal 6-10 months that it takes for most websites to get indexed on Google. Here’s why. When the Google spider finds your articles on the article sites that you submit to on a daily basis and sees your URL on all of them, the spider will at some point go take a look at your website as well. If the Google spider finds a lot of content on your site, you will get indexed much quicker. It could be just a matter of days before you are indexed. As the Google spider finds more and more of your articles your ranking for those articles will begin to climb which will send more and more people to those articles with the URL to your website on each and every one of them and in return you will get more and more people to your website. As your website grows in popularity so will your rankings. One of the big things that the Google spider looks at is the amount of traffic that a website is getting. If your site is getting more and more traffic, the spider will conclude that your website contains information of value and will give you a better ranking because of it. That’s why article writing is so powerful to getting your website noticed in the beginning and will help it thrive later on.

So many marketers ignore article writing. Don’t be one of them. If you go and take a look at some of the bigger article sites, you will find some of the biggest Internet names that submit their articles. Why do they do it? They do it because article writing works. They wouldn’t be doing it if it didn’t. You can bet that their success in part, is due to the articles that they write especially in the early going of whatever it is they are marketing at the time. When I submitted my first article for my website, my article was placed fourteenth in the Google search results for the keyword that I used for the article. That’s pretty good considering it was the first article that I had written for my website. Where do you think my website would be listed on Google the first day it gets indexed with Google? I’ll guarantee that it won’t be fourteenth. I probably won’t be able to find it without typing the actual URL into the search.

Don’t give in to the fallacy that article writing is too much work. Given what it will give back is more than worth the work that you put into it. Considering that the required word count if pretty low, it isn’t going to take long to write an article if you already know what you are going to write about. I spend 15-30 minutes a day writing my article. So what if I miss one TV show that I really don’t care about in the first place. :-). Using the excuse that you will run out of things to write about doesn’t wash either. With all of the information that is on the Internet, there isn’t any way that you can’t find ideas to write about if you go look for them. There are few better ways to get your online business off the ground than article writing. The few that are better will cost you money and are not as consistent in the results that you get from articles. This won’t cost you a dime. Keep in mind that to be successful in business in general, you need to give something to get something in return. This is especially true with an online business.

You don’t need to be a great writer to become an author for an article site. After All, article writing is not rocket science. You do, however, need to write in a way that is informative and easy to understand. Your article will need to be accepted before it goes live on the article site. As long as you adhere to the posting rules, your article will generally be accepted unless it is really poorly written. Every article site is different when it comes to what is required. All article sites will require a minimum word count which can be anywhere from 200 to 500 words. Most will not require over 500 words. You will need to use keywords that pertain to your articles subject and use them in your article. Don’t forget, the key here is that you want to get Google to find your article. Using targeted keywords in your article will get your article placed high on the Google index for that keyword. You can run a keyword search to find the most relevant keywords at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com You want to use your keyword, or keyword phrase at least 3% of the time throughout your article. For example, if your article is 250 words, you will need to use your targeted keyword at least 8 times in your article to achieve the 3% minimum. You can use it more than 3% of the time. Just don’t over do it. I wouldn’t use the keyword more than 5% of the time because Google may think that you are over using the keyword to spam them for a high rank on their index. Article writing is no different than writing information for your web pages. The keywords must be present in both to get good results.

Make sure that your articles are related to the information that is on your website so that your click through visitors are targeted. You want the visitors that you get to your site have an interest in what you sell. You also want the search engines to see that your articles are relevant to the information on your website. You will do much better if the traffic that you send from the article site is targeted to the information that you provide on your website otherwise they will click away if they are not. You spent the time to write the article, you want it to get back more than you put in. Writing articles relevant to the information on your site will do that.

Do not submit the same article to multiple sites because it will hurt your placement on Google. Submit different articles to each article site if you are going to use more than one. I mention Google because that is the search engine that lists articles well and is the search engine that you want to impress with your articles. You can run a Google search if you want to find  article sites. Start writing articles and watch your online business grow, day after day. Make sure that you read the posting rules for each site before submitting your articles. If you don’t follow them your submission will be rejected. If done consistently, article writing will bring your website to the next level and will guarantee you new traffic everyday.
